Block Level Institute for Rural Skill Acquisition

Block Level Institute for Rural Skill Acquisition (BIRSA) focuses on mobilizing those candidates who wish to get skilled within their own local areas and get employed. The training centres under the scheme would be established at block level infrastructures i.e. either in Government or Non-Government buildings. The courses level under the scheme would be limited upto NSQF level I, II and III. The age limit under the scheme has been increased from 35 to 50 for the reserved categories only. The training under the sub scheme will be purely non-residential in nature. Each centre will have target of 500 trainees each year. The size of the training centre is around 4000 square feet.
